I started my professional career as a commercial artist in 1988, then tenures as a graphic designer and art director in a number of high profile agencies, working on some of the world's biggest brands along the way.

Following my creative passion outside of work has also been an important part of my life. And the amalgamation of the thought processes and philosophies between my professional and private disciplines, has helped me evolve both more successfully.

I honed my skills in concept development and creative strategy both above and below the line, including digital, and also areas of the trade such as pre-press, retouching and video editing.

I established myself as a respected practitioner in traditional Maori bone and stone carving, as well as an emerging artist in contemporary art, with solo shows in Wellington and Queenstown as well as being selected to feature in the prestigious Sydney Contemporary Art Fair in 2015. One of my portraits was also selected as a finalist in the 2016 Calleen National Painting Prize in Australia.
